.Net / C# Developer – application support

Position:  .Net / C# Developer – application support – C# / .Net / ASP.Net / SQL Server / Webforms / Winforms

Suitable for:  Support Programmer / Application Support Developer / Junior Developer

Location:  Leeds, West Yorkshire (10 min walk from train station)

Working for an established software group, you will be working with core products, collaborating with the team to support existing customers, resolve live issues and continuously maintain and improve software applications.

Over time, there is the opportunity to move into the development team where you will be assisting in developing the product roadmap.

Experience:

  • Approx 2 yrs experience as Junior .Net Developer, C# Developer, Application Support, Support Programmer or similar
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in .Net, C#, ASP.Net, SQL Server, Webforms, Winforms
  • Knowledge of OO programming and relational databases

Personal Characteristics:

  • Self-motivated, enthusiasm for learning and ability to learn on the fly

Desirable:

  • Any of the following: JQuery, AngularJS, Bootstrap, Specflow, NUnit, Selenium WebDriver, Web API, WCF, SQL Reporting Services, any Continuous Delivery or Automated Deployment technologies (e Jenkins, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy)
  • Previous use of bug tracking software such as Bugzilla, JIRA or FogBugz
  • Knowledge of developing mobile friendly web applications
  • Knowledge of modern IDEs ie Visual Studio
  • Version control software such as Subversion or TFS
  • Agile/Scrum

The Role:

As .Net Developer, Application Support, Support Programmer:

  • You will be involved in live customer issues, solving problems and helping our customers succeed
  • You will help our teams to estimate work and analyse impact to allow the business to make informed decisions
  • You will write unit tests and peer-review code to ensure our output is of the highest quality
  • You will help us maintain the standard of our codebase by carrying out performance improvements and refactoring code to snuff out technical debt
  • You will contribute to frequent reviews of our standards and practices
  • You will work within deadlines in relation to product release timelines, and consistently complete assigned development tasks in required timeframes
  • You will be involved in hands-on development with a variety of technologies in an agile environment
  • You will become a subject matter expert and technical lead in key nominated areas of our systems
  • You will share knowledge by coaching and mentoring other members of the team
