POSITION:  Payroll Software Support

SUITABLE FOR:  Service Desk Consultant / Payroll Administrator / Payroll Assistant / Payroll Officer / 1st Line Support / First Line Support / Helpdesk / Application Support

LOCATION: Leeds, West Yorkshire

SALARY: £19,000 + 6% Bonus

Our client is looking for a Payroll Software Support / Service Desk Consultant / Payroll Administrator / Payroll Assistant / Payroll Officer / 1st Line Support / First Line Support / Helpdesk / Application Support with customer service experience to take on an exciting opportunity within their business.

You need some payroll experience and exceptional customer service skills – you will be taught everything else. The company welcome candidates with a hardworking attitude who are looking to learn and can offer excellent career progression.

This is a varied role and would suit someone who would welcome a change from day to day payroll processing but who would like to put their experience to good use in a different career direction. Anyone with Shared Service Centre experience is of interest.

Experience:

As Payroll Software Support / Service Desk Consultant / Payroll Administrator / Payroll Assistant / Payroll Officer / 1st Line Support / First Line Support / Helpdesk / Application Support, you would be required to have the following –

  • Min 6 months experience working within Payroll
  • Knowledge of PAYE legislation
  • Knowledge of SMP, SSP, SPP, student loans, pensions, attachment of earnings and deductions
  • Strong IT skills ( Microsoft Outlook, Office, Excel, explorer) and experience using software packages
  • Proven excellent communication Skills and customer service skills
  • GCSE Grade C or above in Maths & English

Desirable:

  • General Ledger and journal reconciliation
  • Hold higher education certifications in Customer Services
  • Experience of working within a Service Desk / Helpdesk / Customer Service environment
  • Experience of UAT on a payroll system, or some level of payroll testing experience
  • Experience of using web based call logging systems
  • Any transferable skills such as Customer training experience, interpersonal, customer service etc.
  • Proven Diagnostics Skills (tested by scenario based questioning)

The Role:

As Payroll Software Support / Service Desk Consultant / Payroll Administrator / Payroll Assistant / Payroll Officer / 1st Line Support / First Line Support / Helpdesk / Application Support, you will be providing 1st line software support and troubleshooting to customers (end users and system support staff) typically by phone, e-mail and customer web portal.
