Project Manager – agile, software development

Position:  Project Manager – software development background (ideally Java)

Suitable for:  Scrum Master / Agile Project Manager / Java Developer with project management expeirence

Location:  Glasgow initially, + travel to client sites in Edinburgh

Salary:  C£50k + bonus + bens

Agile Project Manager or Scrum Master required for financial services back office project in Glasgow.   The role is working for a leading edge Technical Consultancy providing bespoke software solutions to clients within financial services, health and retail sectors

Experience / Skills:

  • 3-4 years’ experience as Project Manager or Scrum Master
  • Team leading experience (current team size – 10)
  • Agile software development
  • Must be comfortable in a client facing role and daily interaction with business stakeholders
  • Java software development

Desirable:

  • Financial Services industry experience (ie wealth management, insurance, retail or investment banking, building society etc)
  • Experience as a Scrum Master

 The Role:

As Agile Project Manager / Scrum Master, your responsibilities would include but not be limited to the following:

  • Providing regular communication to senior management and stakeholders
  • Providing advice to customers across the delivery lifecycle
  • Sprint planning to identify goals, plan work and lead the multidisciplinary team through to delivery
  • Management of the iterative design and development process within each sprint using prioritisation techniques
  • Managing risks and issues as they arise, escalating to senior business or technical roles as required
  • Motivating the teams to meet their objectives
  • Managing business involvement within projects
  • Ensuring that the team adopts a culture of continuous learning and improvement through a build fast, fail fast and cheaply approach
