Java Developer / Consultant – Wealth Management / Life & Pensions

Position:  Java Consultant – wealth management experience

Suitable for:  Java Technical Lead / Integration Engineer / Java Software Engineer

Location: Leeds travel to client sites (approx 8-10 days per month)

Salary:  to £70k + bens (see below)

Leading technical consultancy operating within the financial services sector are looking for a Java Developer / Technical Java Consultant with wealth management experience.  As this is a client-facing role, the client is looking for confident, tenacious, quick learning, happy to travel Java Consultant.

Experience

  • Approx 5 years Java experience working as a Java Developer, Java Technical Lead, Integration Engineer or Software Engineer
  • Knowledge of wealth management software (ie pensions, SIPs, ISA’s, Unit Trusts, Pensions, share dealing, investments, stocks and shares, life insurance etc)
  • Enterprise scale software development – from development, testing, deployment, support – both web and desktop client interfaces
  • Understanding of wealth management architecture / platforms / systems
  • Good problem solving and client facing capability

The Role

This is a very varied role working very closely with client teams throughout the UK.  You will be involved in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including:

  • Defining technical solutions/approaches
  • Assisting in trouble shooting and debugging any potential issues with the application
  • Liaising with the client technical and development teams on new and existing changes
  • Assisting the client with the delivery/rollout of software releases
  • Functional and non-functional testing (including performance testing)
