Hello, I’m Simone Devereux, Founder and Director of Solo Search.

With over 20 years’ recruitment experience, gained largely in the IT recruitment marketplace, I’ve worked my way up through the ranks from entry level Resourcer to Recruitment Consultant to Senior Consultant – cutting my teeth within a big corporate agency placing IT contractors.

Five years later, I left the corporate world and moved to the opposite end of the scale – a career with a smaller ‘boutique’ recruitment agency, allowing me more freedom to work to my strengths. Here I became involved in permanent recruitment and more diverse sectors, ultimately broadening my commercial and recruitment skills.

Having established Solo Search in 2004, one of my passions is to do my part in raising recruitment industry standards in the UK. I fully uphold the code of professional practice and high standards required in today’s recruitment environment. I believe in ‘giving something’ back even if you can’t directly help a candidate or client and not giving up when the going gets tough. Recruitment can be a tough old game at times but I am proud to still be riding that wave.

In my free time I am a keen tennis player and enjoy living a healthy and active lifestyle which usually means my daily office attire is a hoodie brighter than this website! I do love a good retail therapy fix and am usually the last one to leave a dance floor. I am a bit of a workaholic, not afraid of hard graft and am a ‘completer finisher’ which does include anything on my plate. Pet hates are candidates not showing up for an interview (and not letting anyone know) and client words - “I’ve already got that CV”.

Kimberly Braham

Hello, I’m Kimberly Braham, Consultant at Solo Search.

Joining Simone at Solo Search at the end of 2013 I am relatively new to the world of recruitment, after leaving full time education I decided university life wasn’t for me and wanted to enter the world of work joining a successful financial services business.

During my time in financial services I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to create and manage a bespoke portfolio management business. Learning greatly from the exposure to numerous industries and dealing with colleagues, clients and stakeholders I am passionate about making any business transaction as friendly, transparent and as simple as possible.

I feel it is key that everybody enjoys their work, after all it is where you spend most of your time. At Solo Search we don’t try shoehorn any candidate into a role, I love the part of my job where I find a candidate who really wants a role and I get to make that happen.

Outside of the office I’m a little bit of a nerd, I love to learn, space travel and royal history being my favourite topics. I also love to travel and see different parts of the world…I do prefer warmer climates but I have been known to do some cooler exploring too in the likes of Poland and Latvia in most recent years!
Anne Lightfoot

Hello, I’m Anne Lightfoot, Consultant at Solo Search.

I’m the new kid at Solo Search joining in April 2016 providing support to Simone and Kim. My background is in law. On completion of my training contract to be a solicitor I decided to try something new and worked for a large corporate recruitment company for a year before returning to law as a Caseworker at a legal charity. I worked my way up to Team Leader and ultimately Head of Office before taking a career break when my second child came along. This gave me exposure not only to the legal world but also how to make a business work and how to deal and negotiate with many different people and stakeholders. Now both my children are at school I have decided it is time to re-enter the working world!

Working at Solo Search is very different to my previous work in recruitment with the emphasis definitely being on quality not quantity. The drive is to find the perfect person not only for the role but for the business too.

At home I enjoy running, pilates, reading and going out with family and friends, squeezed in around lots of children’s parties and activities!
Liam Marriott

Hello, I'm Liam Marriott, Resourcer and Administrator at Solo Search.

I joined Solo Search in February 2018 looking for a new challenge. I started my career as an apprentice mechanic, moving on to management roles in the licensed trade, a spell in facilities management, and then moving to a large energy company for an 8 year spell where I moved into a recruitment role. I had a very varied work history, but once I moved into recruitment I knew I'd found my path, and jumped at the chance to join Solo Search. I knew by the end of my first week that I'd come to the right place! I'm glad I tried a few different things - not everyone knows what they want to do when they leave education, and sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error to find your niche.

Job satisfaction is massively important to me, and that's what drives me in my work. I appreciate how important it is to find the right role in the right company, and I understand that recruitment is a 2-way process - not just the right candidate for the role, but also the right role for the candidate.

The rest of the team wonder how I have any time out of work - I love to keep occupied and have a lot of hobbies! Restoring classic cars and motorcycles, DIY projects, travelling, playing guitar, deep sea fishing trips, playing golf, and watching and coaching rugby league are just a few. I can always be found at Headingley Stadium when Leeds Rhinos are at home!
